Wathaifi indicated that the ASE has continued its strong positive momentum, delivering a notable performance since the beginning of 2026. The market's key performance indices recorded remarkable performance, with the ASE General Index (ASEGI) increased by 11.1% to reach 4012.6 points compared with the end of 2025. The market capitalization of the listed companies also increased by 8.8%, reaching JD28.8 billion. Also, non-Jordanian investors' ownership in companies listed on ASE as of end of July 2026 represented 46.1% of the total market value, reflecting a significant improvement in market activity and renewed investor confidence.
These positive results have been supported by growing confidence in the national economy, underpinned by its resilience, adaptability, and ability to navigate challenging regional and global conditions. They also reflect the continued implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision and major strategic projects, alongside supportive policies that have strengthened economic activity and Jordan's capital market. The broader economic environment has also contributed to this positive performance, by recording GDP growth of 2.9% in the first quarter of 2026, a 25% increase in investment, and a 5.8% increase in national exports during the first five months of the year. In addition, inflation has remained at moderate levels, while the Central Bank's foreign reserves have exceeded $27 billion. Collectively, these factors have enhanced the performance of various economic sectors, reinforced investor confidence, and further strengthened the attractiveness of Jordan's economy and the ASE as an investment destination.
He indicated that, the ASE has suspended the trading of shares of the TUHAMA FOR FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS (THMA) Company and ARAB INVESTORS UNION CO. FOR REAL ESTATES DEVELOPING (UNAI) Company as of Sunday 02/08/2026, for failing to provide the ASE with their reviewed interim financial statements for the period ended 30/06/2026. He also added that if the companies failed to provide the required financial statements later, trading in their shares shall remain suspended for a period of three working days and then be resumed to trading in accordance with the restrictions issued by the ASE Board of Directors in this regard - these restrictions include reducing the duration of the trading session and the price limit - until the companies provide the ASE with the required financial statements, by virtue of the provisions of Articles (15/A) and (15/C) of the Directives of Listing Securities on the Amman Stock Exchange.
